Andy Murray continues his development after securing his first major title by winning the Cincinnati Masters defeating Serb Novak Djokovic 7-6, 7-6 in a thrilling match that could have gone either way.
It may not be a grand slam but nevertheless winning one of these tournaments is surely a natural progression to go on and taste success in one of the major's and now that 21 year old Murray has had a taste it will be intriguing to see how he fares at the US Open.
This was a great tournament for Murray but it also saw world number one Roger Federer lose his ranking and finally be overtaken at the top of the pile by long time time adversary and number two Rafael Nadal and only time will tell if the Frenchman continues to fade or will bounce back at the US Open but there is certainly a downturn in his performances of late.
