Federer Versus Nadal In Final

The Men's final at Wimbledon 2008 will for the third year running be contested by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal after both players negotiated their respective semi-final matches with relative ease.

Top seed Federer defeated the two time grand slam winner Marat Safin 6-3, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 while Nadal conjured up a similar scoreline against the German Rainer Schuettler winning in straight sets 6-1, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 to set up Sunday's final featuring by far the best two players of the Men's tournament this year.

Last year Nadal did improve noticeably upon the 2006 final and had Federer in a spot of bother before appearing to struggle somewhat with an injury allowing the Frenchman time to regain his composure so it will be interesting to see how things turn out this year and whether or not the Spaniard can finally beat the reigning Wimbledon champion on grass like he has already done on his favoured surface of clay.
